Confidential
Edit a multi-film campaign for Hyundai built around the analogy between a high-performance athlete and the vehicle. Each film focused on a specific feature of the car, using the athlete's discipline, precision, and performance as a metaphor to communicate the product's capabilities in a cinematic and engaging way.
The campaign was shot out of sequence, with footage for multiple films captured simultaneously. The challenge was to efficiently organize and manage a large volume of material while keeping track of which shots belonged to each story. As the edit evolved through multiple revision rounds, maintaining continuity and quickly identifying the strongest alternative takes became essential to keeping the process efficient.
Rather than organizing the footage solely by scene or shooting order, we built an editorial system around each film's narrative objective and key product feature. By thoroughly understanding the brief and memorizing the available footage, we were able to navigate revisions quickly, make informed creative decisions, and always have the most suitable alternatives readily available.
A Consistently Reinforced Concept
The campaign moved efficiently through post-production despite its complexity, resulting in a cohesive series of films that consistently reinforced the athlete-to-vehicle analogy while clearly communicating Hyundai's key product features. The structured editorial workflow enabled fast revisions without compromising creative quality.
