Saudia Airlines 75th anniversary
Edit the flagship brand film celebrating Saudia Airlines 75th anniversary. The film was designed as a cinematic manifesto, honoring the airline's heritage while expressing its vision for the future. Rather than following a chronological history, the narrative sought to capture the spirit of Saudi Arabia's evolution through emotionally charged moments, diverse locations, and premium visual storytelling.
The transitions.
The greatest challenge was creating a seamless narrative from a vast range of locations, time periods, and visual environments. The film constantly transitioned between aircraft, airports, landscapes, cities, cultural moments, and intimate human stories, making it easy for the edit to feel fragmented. In parallel, many key moments depended on visual effects and post-production enhancements, requiring the offline edit to clearly establish pacing, continuity, and emotional intent before the final imagery existed.
An emotional journey
We approached the film as an emotional journey rather than a chronological celebration. Instead of grouping scenes by location or subject, we focused on building a rhythm driven by emotion and momentum, allowing each transition to feel motivated by the narrative instead of geography. The edit was carefully structured so every sequence naturally handed over to the next, maintaining a continuous flow despite the diversity of settings. Particular attention was given to designing transitions and editorial placeholders that would guide the VFX and finishing teams while preserving the cinematic ambition of the piece.
An emotionally driven celebration.
The offline edit established a cohesive narrative across an exceptionally diverse body of footage, transforming multiple locations and visual worlds into a single, emotionally driven story. It provided a strong editorial foundation for the extensive post-production process, enabling the final film to celebrate 75 years of Saudia Airlines with the scale, elegance, and cinematic quality expected of a landmark anniversary campaign.
